I finally was able to go out and take pictures of flowers today. I enjoyed it quite a bit and I'm trying some new "photo" tips to see if I can improve my photography. We'll see. I didn't have that much time, so we'll have to wait and see what happens when I can shoot more.
I also then went to a nursery to buy several flowers so that I could plant them on my balcony. I'm hoping that I can keep them alive for awhile. At least for this week. I think I can manage that. I haven't killed my money tree yet, but I'm still waiting for it to bring me riches.
My friend Jenn came over tonight and we watched the Oscars. It was okay, but nothing too exciting happened this year. I'm glad Little Miss Sunshine won for best screenplay. It was good, but I haven't seen any of the others. I guess I'm not really a good critic.
I've also been starting to receive scripts for Beyond Convention, the playwriting festival I'm producing at the Hunger Artists. I can't wait to see what comes in and I hope that things will be wonderfully absurd and things I wouldn't even imagine.
Time for some photos.

It's been a long, but fairly productive day. I'm not sure why I'm so tired, but it may be due to the fact that I stayed up until 2 am yesterday. And I'm starting to get my cold back. It'd be nice just to be healthy for a month. I'm blaming all my students for getting me sick. Them and their germy papers. Speaking of, I have quite a few new ones to comment on tomorrow. While I'm happy that there's some improvement, I'm still not necessarily looking forward to spending Valentine's Day grading. Gene isn't home, though, so it really doesn't matter much. I stoppedby the theatre tonight and was pleasantly surprised at how freaking clean the office is. If only it could stay that way.
And I'm going to at least write a page tomorrow.

So, in redecorating (really, organizing) our apartment, I've created a little writing nook for me. I've finally been able to clear the desk so I can type on my computer and write! Also, right above the desk I've created a huge blue bulletin board. I've put all kinds of pieces of inspiration from a prism, to a seashell lei, to my favorite Renoir paintings. It's exciting and makes me feel ready to sit down and be creative. At least to sit down and try.
